Meet Anne

IMG_5995_DxOBorn in Ireland with qualifications in social work and training I have been a Celebrant here in Tropical north Queensland for many years now.  Despite having lived most of my life in Australia, I am told I still have a slight Irish accent.

I became a Celebrant in 2008 almost accidentally, when some neighbours asked to have their after-ceremony photos in our garden and this is the moment I felt inspired to be a Celebrant.

Owing to my personal and professional background I have developed skills in relating warmly to people and speaking before groups in an engaging and inclusive manner. Many of the couples I marry and their guests comment positively on my ability to reach out to the audience and to maintain an appropriate balance between inserting humour yet maintaining the inherent dignity of the occasion.

Over the past years I have developed a good knowledge of Port Douglas and surrounds and location and services options which I can share with you, if you wish. Having worked in the challenging field of child protection in Melbourne, as you can imagine, I now enjoy immensely experiencing the joy and love that that couples express to each other on their wedding day and ensuring that the ceremony is all they could wish for.
